MAY: A Marian Time of Gratitude, Prayer, and Hope

Dear family in Christ,

As we continue to live in the joy of the Resurrection, I want to express heartfelt thanks to all who participated in our Lenten journey: from the quiet depth of Ash Wednesday to the Holy Week liturgies, the living stations of the cross, and our Easter celebrations. Your presence, your prayer, your service, and your faith made this holy season truly beautiful. Our parish was filled with reverence, devotion, and vibrant life — all for the greater glory of God!

At the same time, we join the entire Church in giving thanks to God for the life and pontificate of Pope Francis, who guided us with humility, compassion, and courage. His love for the poor, his call to mercy, and his tireless commitment to peace and dialogue will remain lasting gifts to the Church and the world. Let us pray for his eternal rest and offer our gratitude for his witness of faithful discipleship.

This Wednesday, May 7, the Conclave begins in Rome to elect our next Holy Father. I invite you to pray fervently that the Holy Spirit may guide the cardinals in choosing a wise, courageous, loving, and compassionate shepherd for our Church.

And finally, I ask for your prayers for the 50 pilgrims from this and other parishes, who will depart for Italy on Sunday, May 11, to participate of this Jubilee Year of Hope. As we travel and celebrate Mass in different cities (such as Rome, Assisi, Loretto, Florence, Padua, and Venice) we will keep your intentions with us, both written and expressed. Kindly talk to me or register your intentions at the parish office before our departure.

Let us ask the Blessed Virgin Mary in this month of May to intercede for us as we continue walking together in faith, hope, and love.

Fr. Martín
